No experience is necessary to join our society, and we are always happy to see new members at events and excavations!

A membership gives you access to all of our events, including excavations, finds viewing, and our programme of talks. A majority of these events are free for members. Membership also includes insurance cover for attending field work events. A day membership can also be purchased for excavations.
Standard membership: £25 per annum
Student membership*: £10 per annum
Day membership: £5
* A copy of your current Student card will be required with your application.

Data Protection and Privacy Notice
- Worthing Archaeological Society (WAS) is a ‘not for profit’ organisation.
- Member's Explicit Consent has been identified by WAS as being the 'Lawful Basis' for processing their personal data.
- WAS only holds and uses personal information for essential membership management contact purposes e.g: circulating Newsletters etc.
- WAS will not share this information with anyone unless the member has given consent for a stated purpose.
- Your information will be deleted from the records within two years of your ceasing to be a member.
- If contact is being made by e-mail with a large group of members, blind e-mail addresses will be used. If a member participates in a specific activity small sub-group then it may be appropriate to include all email addresses. Please contact a committee member if you do not agree to this.
- WAS members details are provided for WAS business only and should not be used for other purposes without the explicit consent of individual members for that alternative purpose.
- The member has a right to withdraw consent at any time, please contact the Membership Secretary to do so.
- If you have concerns regarding privacy or how we handle your information please contact the WAS Secretary who will ask the Trustee holding the data to reply in an appropriate manner.
- At events, digs etc. an announcement as part of the ‘Health and Safety’ briefing will be made requesting consent from attendees regarding any personal photographs taken for use on WAS website, Newsletter etc.

- Please contact the Website Administrator for any corrections to be made.
How to join
If you have access to a printer, download the printable Membership form to the right and complete it. Otherwise come along to a lecture and you can fill out a form then.
