2nd July 2022 - Start of the Dig

3rd July 2022 - Day Two

Alan with his Jedi Master (aka John Mills) Straight-sided Chris in the Southerly trench, and Flinty Folk at the top. Sid's sondage, and Finds Folk plus Detectorists

9th July 2022 - Day Three

What a great turnout on a beautiful day. Plenty of digging & Sid's team may have unearthed a great find. Will keep you posted in tomorrow's update

10th July - Day Four

Another extremely hot day. Find of the day by Sid & Alan with a broken Roman pot. Keith was entertaining the visitors with his wit & knowledge!

23 July

A very busy day on site, new trenches B & C opened up, lots of visitors, a lovely tegula and some more nice pottery.

24 July

Another busy day - windy too.

Photographs from subsequent days , together with the photos here can be found on the Discoveries/Digs_History/Bignor_Roman_Villa page.
